Great for those who are contemplating divorce
I enjoyed reading the case studies. Each one I could relate to my experience or someone I know. Divorce Is Worse Than Death is thought provoking, encouraging the reader to analyze their own circumstances and possible outcomes of the choices they make.

A heartfelt gift of support to anyone enduring the pain of divorce
Stan speaks his truth from the traumatic pain of his parents’ divorce and by weaving narrative case studies that reflect various stages of emotion that are experienced by anyone touched by divorce.
As a stepparent, I gained an understanding of the perspective of some of the most vulnerable victims, the children, and the impact that divorce has on them.
Stan’s book is a valuable resource that offers support to anyone navigating this difficult path. It is a gentle gift that says, “I hear your pain, I understand” to all that it is shared with.
Don't limit yourself by the title
Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020This book is more about loss - your partner, a relationship, family dynamics, a dream - all apply. Although it certainly brought home the reality of losing someone you love/d that is no longer an active part of your life. However, we've all experienced loss for any number of reasons. The author talks about how people do a great job of acting and presenting themselves to the world, and as a widow, on a personal level, I could certainly relate. This book helps you to better understand why others may react differently towards loss than you, and allows you to better show empathy and comfort because of it. Glad I discovered this book, money well spent.
If you're contemplating divorce, READ THIS BOOK first
Powerful content that weighs the pros and cons of a marital split without bias toward either side (despite the title). Stan McCluskey takes a deep dive into the ramifications of divorce, both psychological and physical, and looks at some things, well beyond the financial, that too many people don't even think to consider as a consequence of divorce.
And, what toll our society pays for the statistics of marital strife.
